Hans Pickers

Hans Pickers (born August 12, 1924 in Emmerich ; † November 10, 2005 in Emmerich am Rhein ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school and the military service and captivity, he graduated from 1945 to 1948 an electrical apprenticeship and worked as a journeyman in the electric craft operates. In 1954 Pickers passed the master craftsman examination. From 1954 to 1959 he studied pedagogy and from 1959 worked as a vocational school teacher , most recently as senior teacher at the district vocational school in Geldern .

Pickers was honorary chairman of the CDU district association Kleve.

He was married to Hildegard Pickers, b. Schwake and had six sons with her.

He belonged to the district council of the former district of Geldern from 1969 until the regional reform on December 31, 1974 and from 1975 to 1994 to the district council of the newly formed district of Kleve .

Pickers was from May 23, 1975 to October 16, 1994 district administrator of the Kleve district.

He was active in various committees of the district assembly of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was also on the board of the Rhenish Savings Banks and Giro Association .

On March 25, 1987, Pickers was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
