Hans Popp

Hans Popp (born February 28, 1909 in Roth ; † July 23, 1978 there ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life

Popp attended secondary school in Nuremberg , studied at the technical universities in Graz and Munich and graduated with a diploma in Munich in 1933. He then worked on major construction sites in southern Germany until the beginning of the Second World War . In 1939 he took over his parents' construction company in Roth. From 1942 to 1945 he was drafted into the infantry in Russia , at the end of the war he was a flag junior non-commissioned officer . In 1947 Popp founded a second construction company in Nuremberg, and in 1958 he became a member of the general assembly of the Chamber of Crafts in Middle Franconia .

Popp joined the CSU in 1952, and in the same year he was elected to the city council of Roth for the first time. There he became chairman of the CSU local association in 1956. In 1960 he became second mayor of Roth. He was also a member of the Schwabach district assembly and was deputy chairman of the Schwabach district association of the CSU. On April 1, 1965, he replaced the late Georg Freiherr von und zu Franckenstein in the Bavarian state parliament . His mandate was confirmed in 1966 via the Middle Franconia constituency list. In 1970 he won the direct mandate in the Schwabach-Stadt und -Land district , and in 1974 in the Roth district . He carried out the state parliament mandate until his death, his short-term successor was Christel Reich .
