Hans Ramstetter

Hans Ramstetter (born April 2, 1922 in Wurzen ) is a former German party functionary .

Live and act

Ramstetter joined the NSDAP in 1940 at the age of 18 . He studied law and became - in the meantime his doctorate and since 1946 a member of the Eastern CDU - in 1949 legal advisor in the Thuringian Ministry of Trade and Supply . In 1950 he joined the Society for German-Soviet Friendship and the Free German Trade Union Federation, in 1951 he attended the district school of the FDGB .

He held the deputy chairmanship of his party in the Erfurt district from 1952 to 1954. However, he was temporarily suspended from this office in January 1953 in connection with the arrest of the CDU deputy chairman and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the GDR, Georg Dertinger .

He was then chairman of a working group at the National Council of the National Front and from 1962 to 1964 scientific director of INTERPRET in Berlin-Bohnsdorf, one of the three central translation services of the GDR.

From 1964 to 1969 he was in charge of the "International Relations" department in the secretariat of the main board of the CDU. In October 1966 he became Vice President of the League for the United Nations of the GDR . In the 1970s he was (until 1979) head of the secretariat of the President of the GDR People's Chamber .
