Hans Reinauer

Hans Reinauer (born April 6, 1933 in Bátaszék , Hungary ) is a Hungarian-German biochemist and emeritus professor for clinical biochemistry at the University of Düsseldorf .

Life

Reinauer was Dean of the Medical Faculty of the University of Düsseldorf in 1978 and 1979 . In addition, he headed (1974 ff) the biochemical department of the Diabetes Research Institute (at that time still DFI) 'Auf'm Hennekamp' in Düsseldorf and later (after Prof. Pothmann) the institute for techn. Assistants in medicine. From 1980 to 2011 he was president of the "Society for the Promotion of Quality Assurance in Medical Laboratories INSTAND eV" (until the beginning of 2006 called "Institute for Standardization and Documentation in Medical Laboratories"), since 2011 its honorary president. In addition, Hans Reinauer was Vice President from 1986 to 1991 and President of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies from 1991 to 2001 (AWMF ), then he was a past president of the AWMF executive committee until 2009 and has been honorary president of the AWMF ever since.

Hans Reinauer is Editor in Chief of the scientific open access journal German Medical Science (GMS) of the AWMF , which is published in cooperation with the German Institute for Medical Documentation and Information (DIMDI) and the German Central Library for Medicine (ZB MED). He held the office of President of the World Association of Societies of Pathology (WASP) from 1995 to 1997.

One focus of the scientific activities of Hans Reinauer is the development of laboratory medical reference methods and the standardization of medical terms, methods and evaluations in order to enable doctors and other scientists to communicate properly and in the interests of patients to provide preventive care, early detection, diagnostics, to improve therapy monitoring, aftercare and rehabilitation in medicine and to make the results of scientific work comparable.
