Bátaszék ( German Badeseck , Croatian Bacik ) is a town in the south of Hungary around 160 km south of Budapest in the Szekszárd district in Tolna County .
history
The first settlements took place in 1142 when King Géza had an abbey built. At the beginning of the 18th century, Germans were also settled in Bátaszék. After the Second World War , most of the German families were resettled to Germany .
traffic
Bátaszék is on the railway line from Baja to Sárbogárd . The city is located at the junction of the main road No. 56 from Szekszárd to Udvar (Croatian border) and the main road No. 55 to Baja. Since March 31, 2010, Bátaszék has been accessible via the M6 motorway.
Surroundings
The surrounding area is characterized by vineyards and orchards. Larger places are Szekszárd and Mohács . It is 20 km to the Danube .

In the center of the city is the Roman Catholic Church Nagyboldogasszony , built in 1903 in neo-Gothic style .
