Hans Rinner (born March 18, 1963 in Semriach ; † February 16, 2018 ) was an Austrian entrepreneur and football official. From December 7th, 2009 until his death he was President of the Austrian Football League . He was also the owner and managing director of Frigopol Kälteanlagenbau GmbH / Experience . From 2007 to 2010 he was President of SK Sturm Graz ; from 2016 he appeared as honorary president of the association where he last served on the supervisory board.

biography

After completing his school education, Rinner began an apprenticeship as an electrician. He then passed the evening matura at the BULME in Graz-Gösting and enjoyed special training in the field of refrigeration technology . From 1992 Rinner worked with several companies worldwide.

He was the managing partner of FRIGOPOL Kälteanlagen GmbH in Frauental an der Laßnitz and most recently held the title of commercial councilor .

On February 16, 2018, Rinner died of cancer . In addition to his wife Claudia and daughters Evamaria and Melanie, he left behind his mother Josefa and the siblings Roswitha and Ewald with families.

On November 2, 2006, Rinner was elected vice-president of SK Sturm Graz and on January 18, 2007, at a general assembly of the association, he was elected as the successor to the short-term and honorary president Hans Fedl as the new president. In his era, the successfully accepted compulsory compensation from Sturm Graz as well as the new beginning at the traditional Graz club. On May 25, 2010, Rinner resigned from his position as President at a board meeting.

Since 2006, Rinner has been Vice President of the Austrian Bundesliga, which includes the Bundesliga and the First League . On November 27, 2009, the Bundesliga club bosses agreed on Rinner as the new Bundesliga president, who succeeded the previous president, Martin Pucher . The official election took place on December 7th, 2009, in which Hans Rinner won the election with 75 out of 80 votes, as expected.

At the general assembly of SK Sturm Graz on January 18, 2018, exactly nine years to the day after his election as president, Rinner was appointed honorary president of the association.
