Hans Rudolf Sager
Hans Rudolf Sager (born November 20, 1547 in Bern ; † February 22, 1623 there ) was mayor of Bern .
biography
From 1570 he sat in the council Bernese Grossen was Schultheiss of Interlaken , from 1580 a member of the Small Council, and the same year Venner to forging . In 1584 he was the Bernese envoy in Geneva for the evocation of the covenant with Bern, in 1585 he was in the assembly in Aarau to advise on measures against the Anabaptists and in 1586 in the assembly in Baden, where Sager suggested in vain that Vaud should be opposed to the Confederation as Bernese territory To protect Savoy . In 1586 he was the builder, from 1594 to 1597 as Deutschseckelmeister and from 1597 to 1621 as mayor of Bern. With him his family died out in the male line.
Hans Rudolf Sager owned the Wingreis vineyard on Lake Biel and interest goods in Oberdettigen.
