Hans Ruffing

Hans Ruffing (born January 21, 1897 in Bexbach ; † May 27, 1979 in Saarlouis ) was a Saarland trade unionist and politician ( CVP ).

Life and politics

In 1920 Hans Ruffing worked as a secretary for the Christian Miners' Union in Saarlouis - Fraulautern . There he was also employed as district manager from 1923 to 1935. In 1935/36 he was unemployed and from 1937 to 1939 he took over the management of a rye mill. From 1940 to 1945 he participated in the war and was taken prisoner in August 1944 . In May 1946 he returned to Saarland and became involved in the unified trade union and in the CVP.

He was one of 20 members of the Saarland Constitutional Commission . For the CVP he was also represented in the Saarland state parliament from October 5, 1947 to December 17, 1955 .

He campaigned for the re-admission of Christian trade unions and on August 24, 1947 was involved in the founding of the Christian Saar miners' union in Burbach and took over the chairmanship until April 1954. From April 1954 to April 1958 he worked as the labor and social director of Saarbergwerke .
