Central management

In 1990, Hans Rupli was elected to the central management of the Swiss Association of Carpenters, where he held a seat until 1999.

Presidential years

In the 20 years from 1999 to 2019 as central president of Holzbau Schweiz, Hans Rupli shaped the association, the industry and the entire timber construction nationally and internationally. Various innovative and pioneering projects have a radiance that goes far beyond timber construction and are still considered pioneering today.

From 2002 to 2013 Rupli was also a member of the board of directors of AG Verlag Hoch- und Tiefbau in Zurich. In 2003 he left the Swiss Master Builders Association (ASV) and Holzbau Schweiz was founded. Also in 2003 he founded the association “Berufsförderung Holzbau Schweiz”. From 2004 to 2018 Rupli was a board member of the Swiss Employers' Association in Zurich. In 2006 he was elected to the Board of Directors of Suva, Lucerne. Immediately after breaking away from the SBV, Holzbau Schweiz sought an independent social partnership. In the development of the GAV Holzbau, new paths were broken together with the social partners Syna, Unia , Baukader Schweiz and the commercial association. In addition to the usual provisions that regulate the minimum employment conditions, the GAV Holzbau also contains Rupli's vision of a corporate culture based on partnership. In 2007 the Federal Council issued a declaration of general applicability for the collective employment contract. In 2008 Rupli was accepted as a member of the Chamber of Commerce of the Swiss Trade Association, Bern. At Artisana, Association for Workplace Health Promotion, Worblaufen, he has been a board member since 2008. In 2013, Holzbau Vital, the industry solution for occupational health and safety, and the Pro Holzbau Schweiz GmbH publishing house were founded with the launch of the magazines “First” and “Wir Holzbauer”.

Rupli is a co-founder of the joint association and information system Allianz Bau, which is currently supported by 16 industry organizations in the main construction and finishing trades on the employer and employee side. The members of the alliance are social partners (trade unions and employers' associations) involved in generally binding collective labor agreements (AVE-GAV) for the main construction and finishing trades. The sponsoring association is organized on an equal footing, politically neutral and is open to other contracting parties of AVE-GAV.
