Hans Schätzke
Hans-Georg Schätzke (born September 18, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German jazz musician ( double bass , arrangement ) who also worked as a music editor.
Act
Schätzke first learned the instrument as an autodidact ; between 1960 and 1964 he was active with the Jazz Optimisten Berlin , for which he also arranged. In 1966 he played (with Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky and Rainer Riedel) at Joachim Kühn's last concert in the GDR. Then he was a member of various groups run by Günther Fischer and was trained as a professional musician at the Friedrichshain Music School between 1966 and 1970 . From 1964 to 1979 he was one of the Dixieland All Stars Berlin ; In 1973 and 1974 he also played with Hubert Katzenbeier . He later worked as a music editor for the voice of the GDR station . In recent years he has been part of Coco Schumann's quartet .
He composed pieces such as “Jamboree Blues”, “New Farewell Blues” or “Tuba Time.” He is also on records with Volkmar Schmidt , Friedhelm Schönfeld , the Jenaer Oldtimers , Wolf Biermann and the concert documentation Sol Sajn: Yiddish Music in Germany and Theirs Influences (1953-2009) heard.
