Hans Scherer (journalist)
Hans Scherer (born January 24, 1938 in Trier , † June 10, 1998 in Berlin ) was a German journalist and writer .
Life
After working as a journalist for various German newspapers in Düsseldorf , Trier , Duisburg and Nuremberg , Hans Scherer joined the editorial team of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in 1973 . In the following years he became known for his travel reports , but also for columnist articles on other cultural topics. From 1986 Scherer worked as a cultural correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine in Paris ; from 1996 he lived as a correspondent in Berlin . In the same year he received the International Travel Literature and Travel Journalism Prize of the State of Tyrol . He is buried in the Old St. Matthew Cemetery in Berlin-Schöneberg . The bronze figure The Seated Faun by Katrin Stock was stolen in 2009. A standing faun by the same artist has been on view since 2013 .
