Johann Willsberger

Johann Willsberger (* 1941 in Styria ) is an Austrian photographer , author and publisher . He is particularly known for his food photography and has thus shaped the magazine “Gourmet”.

Career

In 1976 Willsberger founded the magazine "Gourmet - the international magazine for food and wine", together with Karin Krüger as publisher and Hans Heinrich Ziemann as editor. Willsberger was responsible for the photography. For a quarter of a century, Gourmet was one of the most influential and style-defining gourmet and wine publications in German-speaking countries. The glossy magazine was valued as a fine culinary publication. In 1980, when Besser 's Gourmet Journal was founded , a dispute arose over the magazine's title. In 2001 the gourmet was discontinued.

Since 1975 he has also published numerous books on the subjects of photography, cuisine and travel.

In 1982 he designed the Willsberger Collection wine glass series for Spiegelau Glas .

Willsberger has lived in Switzerland since 1991.
