Hans Schiefele (born October 1, 1919 in Munich ; † September 19, 2005 ) was a German sports journalist and long-time member of FC Bayern Munich , where he performed various functions.

Life

Schiefele joined FC Bayern Munich on September 11, 1928, to which he remained loyal for 77 years until his death. He played before the Second World War in the youth department of the association football and came in season 1937/38 in the Gauliga Bayern , in one of initially 16 and later to 23 spiked Gauligen the era of National Socialism as a uniform top flight in the German Reich to a stake , as well as in the 1942/43 season , in which he each played a game for the Gaume Championship Munich-Upper Bavaria and in the Gauliga Südbayern . He also played a total of six friendlies for Bayern and was even about to be called to the senior national team , which, however, could not be realized due to the outbreak of the Second World War.

After the end of the war he found a job with the Abendzeitung , a Munich tabloid . Working in the archive, which at the time - like the sports department - was in the basement, he was approached by the sports editor about writing an article for the sports section. Admitted, he wrote so well that he was soon hired as a journalist and then practiced this profession for decades. So - after his active time as a player - he continued to accompany FC Bayern Munich, for whose club magazine he was also responsible. In the course of his journalistic activities, he switched to the Süddeutsche Zeitung , which sent him as the only editor to the 1954 World Cup final .

Even in "retirement" he remained active; He was a co-founder of the bowling department , which was a very special concern of his until his death and which was probably most important to him. For a time he was a member of the board of directors of FC Bayern Munich and was its secretary for many years. From 1987 until the transformation of the association into an AG in 2002 he held the office of Vice President. The duration of his office also depended very much on his friendly relationship with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge , who repeatedly gave him his support. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge would even have resigned if Hans Schiefele had not been re-elected in the 2000 presidium elections. Out of gratitude for his always competent and loyal voluntary work, always trying to promote and support the smaller departments of the club, the general assembly appointed him honorary member and honorary vice-president of FC Bayern Munich. He died on September 19, 2005, in the night from Sunday to Monday, as a member at the time with the longest association membership and ID number 1.

"Hans Schiefele was always reliable," said former President Franz Beckenbauer . “With his humorous, sometimes so typically Bavarian-subtle manner and his competence in all tasks entrusted to him, he was an important man in the management of FC Bayern for many years. He was balancing, always kept calm and reminded us again and again of the roots and tradition of the association. We will miss Hans Schiefele very much. "
