Knud from Harbou

Knud von Harbou (born 1946 in Bremen ) is a German journalist.

Life

Knud von Harbou is one of three children of the German administrative lawyer Mogens von Harbou and Louise von Ribbeck. His father committed suicide in 1946 in the US internment camp in Dachau under pressure from his involvement in the Holocaust in occupied Poland. Knud von Harbou grew up in Munich and studied history and German.

He worked as a publisher's editor and then as a non-fiction editor in the features section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung , as well as program manager at S. Fischer Verlag . Von Harbou wrote book reviews and co-initiated the 2007 Non-fiction Book of the Month list . He took on teaching positions at various universities. Von Harbou lives in Tutzing .

2013 he published a biography of Franz Josef Schöningh , the Deputy District Chief was used in Mogens von Harbou in Poland and counted after the war in the Süddeutsche Zeitung of the founders and editors. In 2015, a historical study of the first ten years of publication of the Süddeutsche Zeitung followed.
