Ilmari Hannikainen.

Toivo Ilmari Hannikainen (born October 19, 1892 in Jyväskylä , † July 25, 1955 in Kuhmoinen ) was a Finnish composer .

Pekka Juhani Hannikainen's son studied at Helsinki University from 1911 to 1914 . He was then a student of Franz Schreker at the Music Academy in Vienna , from 1915 to 1917 from Alexander Siloti in Saint Petersburg and from 1919 from Alfred Cortot in Paris . He then worked as a piano teacher at the Conservatory and later as a professor at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

He composed an opera , a piano concerto , a piano quartet, numerous Impressionist piano pieces and songs .
