Hans Schiller (politician)

Hans Schiller (born June 18, 1905 in Hof an der Saale , † April 5, 1962 in Bozen ) was a Bavarian politician of the KPD and social democratic union functionary.

Life

Hans Schiller was a factory worker in the textile industry. From 1923 he was a member of the Communist Youth of Germany and from 1926 a member of the KPD. In 1928 he was elected political leader of the KPD local group Hof and in 1930 organizational head of the KPD sub-district Hof. As a member of the textile workers' union , he was expelled in 1931 because of this political activity. In 1932 he was elected political leaders of the KPD-subdistrict court and 1932. Because of his political resistance to National Socialism , he was arrested in 1933 and sentenced on November 23, 1933 by the Reich Court in Leipzig to a 13-month prison term. After serving his imprisonment, he was deported to the Dachau concentration camp .

After the liberation in 1945 he was initially politically active again as a KPD functionary in Hof. From 1947 he took over the management of the DGB legal office in Hof. In 1948 he was elected a member of the city council in Hof. In 1949 he changed the party register and became a member of the SPD and then appointed managing director of the DGB district committee in Hof.

In 1960 he was elected deputy mayor and welfare officer of the city of Hof.
