Hans Sommer (born October 28, 1909 in Winterberg , † April 9, 2000 in Warstein ) was a German painter and sculptor .

One of Sommers' works, the sculpture ensemble from 1969/70 Gespaltene Welt , is in the RELíGIO - Westphalian Museum for Religious Culture in Telgte . It was shown on loan on Sunderner Krippenweg in Sundern in 2007 . His other work for the church range include except cribs for which he partly in Telgte first prizes of the Bishop of Münster was awarded, among others, the painting Annunciation of shepherds and train of kings from 1972, which at the IV Sundern. Krippenweg 2008/09 served as a template for an information brochure and for the crib path station “The largest book in the world”. In 1985 he also carved the high relief The Miracle of Bethlehem from limewood .

In the public space he designed a brewing memorial in Warstein in 1988 and a bronze relief in 1993 in Winterberg for a memorial at today's town and town hall. This is where the Winterberger Neck Dish used to be . The memorial commemorates the women who were executed as witches there in the 16th century .
