Hans Steger (politician)
Hans Steger (born February 9, 1922 in Vilich-Rheindorf ; † December 23, 1998 in Bonn ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1961 to 1969 he was mayor of the city of Beuel .
Steger had completed an apprenticeship as a heating and ventilation engineer and was a member of the Beuel city council from 1951. From 1961 to 1969 he was mayor of the city of Beuel. He then held the post of mayor of the city of Bonn until 1989. On October 27, 1989, Steger became an honorary citizen of the city of Bonn . He also received the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1990 .
His grave is in the cemetery in Schwarzrheindorf . The Hans-Steger-Ufer on the right bank of the Rhine has been named after Steger since 2000 .
