Hans Stumpf (born February 2, 1919 - † February 24, 2010 ) was a German football goalkeeper . In 1939 he took part in the finals of the German soccer championship with 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 .

career

Stumpf grew up sporty at TG 48 Schweinfurt . In 1936 he joined the locally leading 1. FC Schweinfurt 05, in whose first team he made his debut in 1938 at the side of the World Cup participants and FIFA selection players Albin Kitzinger and Andreas "Ander" Kupfer in the Gauliga Bayern .

In the following year, Stumpf was in the goal of FC 05 when it narrowly missed the qualifying games for the semi-finals in the final of the German soccer championship against Dresdner SC , and in 1939 and 1943 he took part in his team's games in the Tschammerpokal . Stumpf later called the decisive final match against Dresdner SC with his national player Helmut Schön "my greatest sporting event".

After the Second World War , Stumpf moved to the Lower Franconian rival Würzburger Kickers in 1948 , for whom he played a total of 290 league games by 1955.

Hans Stumpf was appointed twice as a goalkeeper in the Bayern team.

After the career

After his sporting career, Hans Stumpf worked for a bank in Schweinfurt and also worked as a football and fistball coach at TG 48 Schweinfurt.
