Hans-Ulrich Spohn

Hans-Ulrich Spohn (* 1937 ) is a former German diplomat .

Life

Hans-Ulrich Spohn was at the University of Nancy to Doctor of Law doctorate . In 1969 he joined the foreign service . He was accredited to the embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany in London , La Paz and Lagos .

From January 12, 1987, Spohn was the first counselor to be accredited to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Santiago de Chile . In 1988 Spohn researched the area around Colonia Dignidad . In 1990 Spohn found a diplomatic explanation for Augusto Pinochet's admission to the German military. From 1995 Spohn headed the Brazil department at the Foreign Office . At the beginning of 2001, Spohn offered to have the Atucha I nuclear power plant upgraded by Siemens for a longer service life .

In 2003 he was retired. Since January 2007, Spohn and Harald Ganns and Peter C. Hauswedell have been special ambassadors for the establishment of the International Organization for Renewable Energies . Until 2008, Spohn was the chairman of the German-Latin American legal association TRIANA. He is married to the painter and sculptor Diana Mendes Pimentel and is a member of the German-Brazilian Society in Rio de Janeiro .

Spohn is a member of the Academic Society Stuttgardia Tübingen .
