Hans Vilz

Hans Vilz (born May 2, 1902 in Essen , † 1971 in Düsseldorf ) was a German animal and landscape painter .

Life

Hans Vilz first studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Essen , then from 1925 to 1932 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Ludwig Heupel-Siegen . He was a master student of Julius Paul Junghanns .

Vilz was one of the first artists to move into the studio house built in 1937 for “young, yet unmarried painters and sculptors” at Franz-Jürgens-Straße 12 in Düsseldorf-Golzheim .

In 1949 he was a co-founder of the Düsseldorf artist group .
