Johannes (Hans) Otto August Würzburg (born December 21, 1904 in Berlin ; † December 15, 1983 in Berlin-Lichterfelde ) was a German lawyer, notary and politician of the SPD .

Life

Würzburg was born the son of Oberpostsekretär Otto Würzburg and his wife Elly (née Tietz). After finishing school in Berlin, he studied law and political science at the universities in Berlin , Tübingen and Breslau . In 1927 he passed the legal traineeship and was awarded a Dr. jur. doctorate (title of the dissertation : The concept of law in the sense of the imperial constitution ). In 1931 he passed the assessor exam. From 1940 to 1945 Hans Würzburg did military service. After 1945 he lived in Berlin.

In 1937 Würzburg married the doctor Konstanze Meiners (1908–1981), the couple had three children. He was buried in the Lichterfelde cemetery.

Politics and profession

After graduating in 1931, Hans Würzburg initially worked as a lawyer in Liegnitz , and from 1934 in Berlin. From 1933 he was temporarily prevented from practicing his profession for political reasons. From 1945 he ran a practice as a lawyer and notary in West Berlin .

Würzburg joined the SPD in 1945. From 1950 to 1958 he was a district councilor in Steglitz and from 1963 to 1967 a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . From 1955 to 1961 he was chairman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Lawyers (ASJ) Berlin and from 1959 chairman of the Berlin Chamber of Lawyers .
