Hans Wich

Hans Wich (born April 9, 1929 in Bamberg ; † May 7, 2019 there ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and cathedral capitular .

Life

Hans Wich studied philosophy and theology after elementary school in Bug and in the Franz-Ludwig-Gymnasium Bamberg . In 1954 he was ordained a priest. Wich was pastor in various parishes in Burgebrach , Geiselwind and Kulmbach , and also dean of Stadtsteinach and Kulmbach. He was diocesan judge at the Archbishop's Office, Ordinary Chancellor and Head of Personnel in the Archdiocese of Bamberg . In 1982 he became a member of the cathedral chapter at Bamberg Cathedral and was appointed resident cathedral chapter by Archbishop Elmar Maria Kredel . In 1999 he retired.

From 1972 to 2008 he was the spiritual supervisor of the Catholic DJK sports association and was dubbed a "sports prelate". In addition, for decades he was committed to the Bamberg Crib Friends, the Mesnervereinigung and the male pastors in the Archdiocese. Since 1988 he has been President of the Marian Lords and Citizens' Modality in Bamberg.

Wich was a member of the Catholic student union of the WKSt.V. Unitas Henricia Bamberg in the UV .
