Hans Wolf Jaeschke
Hans Wolf Jaeschke (born October 9, 1907 in Darmstadt ; † March 18, 1983 in Bad Godesberg ) was a German diplomat .
Life
Hans Wolf Jaeschke was the son of Lieutenant Colonel a. D. Hans Jaeschke and the grandson of the imperial governor of Tsingtau , Paul Jaeschke . After attending school, he studied law and graduated at the University of Hamburg in 1931 with the promotion of Dr. iur. with a dissertation on the subject of "The legal status of the quayside in sea freight traffic with special consideration of quay handling in Hamburg and Bremen".
He later entered the diplomatic service and was first class member of the Legation Council in the Foreign Office in the early 1960s, and was the successor to Werner Peiser from 1961 to 1963 as Ambassador to Nicaragua .
Later, he was Counselor 1st Class at the embassy at the Vatican . In this capacity he also held talks with the secretary for extraordinary tasks of the Church Curia Cardinal Antonio Samorè in 1966 about the question of whether the titular bishop of Allenstein could be appointed apostolic administrator of the area in Poland , which Jaeschke ruled out on behalf of the federal government .
It was after the sudden death of Dieter Sattler on Nov. 9, 1968 Charge d'Affaires and Acting Ambassador to the Holy See . He held this position until Hans Berger was accredited in 1969.
