Hans Wunder (born June 25, 1886 in Grein , † January 25, 1962 in Linz ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist and secondary school teacher .

Live and act

Wunder grew up in Frankenmarkt and Linz and graduated from the teacher training college in 1905 . He entered the school service, was a teacher in Leonding from 1910 to 1926 and then in Linz. He became the principal principal .

With his artistic work he went public in 1916 with his participation in the exhibition of the artists' association MAERZ . There he only showed studies and sketches. Wunder mainly created graphic sheets of Linz views. In 1941 he created 52 watercolors and pen drawings from the construction of the Nibelungen Bridge .

Works

  • In 1986 the city of Linz bought a folder with 12 city views from the gallery of the Landhaus tower from Hans Wunder from the artist's daughter ; The Society Friends of the City of Linz provided significant aid for the purchase of this topographically important series on the birthday of its Honorary President, former Mayor Ernst Koref . The graphics were exhibited from March 19 to May 11, 1986 in the Linz City Museum.
