Hansheinz Reinprecht

Hansheinz Reinprecht (* 1925 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ; † April 8, 2009 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist , educator and manager of the SOS Children's Village .

Life

Hansheinz Reinprecht studied German in Vienna and received his doctorate in 1949. He worked as an editor for the Austrian daily Linzer Volksblatt from 1950 to 1955 and met Hermann Gmeiner in 1952 when he was setting up his first SOS Children's Village in Imst . Reinprecht was enthusiastic about this commitment and from 1955 worked full-time for the SOS Children's Village. He founded the second SOS Children's Village in Altmünster on Lake Traunsee . Later he took over the management of the SOS Children's Village in Hinterbrühl in Lower Austria . From 1964 until his retirement in 1990 he was Secretary General of SOS Children's Villages International.
