Hansjörg Lein

Hansjörg Lein (born October 2, 1953 in Waiern ) is an Austrian Evangelical Lutheran pastor and was Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of Vienna from 2004 to 2018 .

Life

Hansjörg Lein grew up in the Protestant rectory in Eisentratten in Carinthia and graduated in 1972 in Spittal an der Drau . He then studied Protestant theology at the University of Vienna , the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , the University of Zurich and the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau . He completed his studies in 1979 with a master's degree. In the same year he became vicar in the church on the way and in 1980 in the Evangelical parish church Floridsdorf in Vienna . On March 8, 1981, Hansjörg Lein was ordained to a spiritual office and elected pastor by the parish in the Evangelical Parish Church of Floridsdorf. He held this office until he was elected superintendent in 2003. In 1998 he was elected senior and in 2000 he became a synodal and member of the diaconal committee of the general synod of the Evangelical Church A. u. HB in Austria . On January 1st, 2004, he took up his post as the successor to Werner Horn as Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of Vienna. Hansjörg Lein is married and has a son and a daughter.
