Anton Faber
Anton “Toni” Faber (born March 18, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic priest , dean and cathedral capitular in Vienna.
Life
Faber grew up with three siblings in Rodaun , a district in Vienna's 23rd district of Liesing . He completed a degree in theology and trained as a priest. In 1988 he was ordained a priest and in 1989 he was entrusted with the office of archbishop ceremonial ; first with Cardinal Hans Hermann Groër and from 1995 with Archbishop Christoph Schönborn . In 1997 he was appointed pastor of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and dean of the first district and in November 2000 he was appointed cathedral capitular.
Awards and memberships
- 2007: Great Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria
- 2018: Member as "Knight of Honor" of the Order of St. George .
