Hanspeter Staffler

Hanspeter Staffler (born July 12, 1966 in Schlanders , South Tyrol ) is an Italian civil servant and politician .

biography

Staffler grew up in Mals . He completed a degree in forestry at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna , which he completed with the thesis Forest Societies in Upper Vinschgau, submitted in 1993 as the basis for a wildlife management concept . In 1996 he joined the South Tyrolean provincial service as a civil servant, and from 2002 he held the rank of official director. He initially oversaw the area of ​​water protection structures, and from 2007 he headed the fire and civil protection department. In 2009 he was at his alma mater with a dissertation on the potentially natural vegetation of Vinschger Sonnenberg doctorate . In 2014 he was promoted to General Director of the South Tyrolean Provincial Administration. In the state elections in 2018 , Staffler won a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and, at the same time, the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol with 3377 preferential votes on the list of Greens .
