Morbid ”Andrade ( vocals , keyboards , electric guitar , electric bass ) and Matt“ Karmageddon ”Aldrich ( drums ). Aldrich was also the drummer in the depressive black metal band Wedard from Memmingen .
history
Founder "A. Morbid ”has faced many problems in his previous life, including homelessness and loneliness . He also has a side project called Deep-Pression .
In 2007 Happy Days released three demos with A World of Pain , Alone and Cold and Drown in Negativity . "A. Morbid ”said the production on Alone and Cold and A World of Pain could have been better.
In 2008 the debut album was released with Melancholic Memories . In the same year the duo released their second long player Defeated by Life . In 2009, Happy Days' third album Happiness Stops Here followed . In 2010 Cause of Death: Life was the fourth studio album. It was financed through the two labels Self Mutilation Services and Funeral Industries . In January 2015, Melancholic Memories was reissued.
There are also five split CDs with Svard (under The Bitter Taste of Life , 2008), with Fornicatus , Black Hate and All the Cold (published as Children of Failure ) (2009), The First Steps Towards Suicide (with Eindig , 2010) and Psychonaut 4 and Dodsferd under the title The Great Depression I (2013), as well as The Great Depression II (with the Japanese band Kanashimi , 2014) to their discography.
The project is considered an icon in the depressive black metal scene.
style
Happy Days play a very slow way of playing Depressive Black Metal . The songs, which can reach a playing time of 10 minutes (or longer), seem very sluggish due to the slow and melancholy sound. Shoegazing can also be heard in the sound . The lyrics are about suicide , depression and loneliness . The singer draws his inspiration from his life. He describes Happy Days as his personal “diary”.
