Harald Klose (born March 12, 1945 in Pommer ) is a former German soccer player who played 58 league games for FC Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga from 1963 to 1968 and scored seven goals.

career

At the start of the new Bundesliga - it replaced the formerly first-class regional leagues from 1963/64 - the previous youth player Harald Klose received a license player contract with the team of coach Georg Gawliczek in addition to Günter Herrmann , Hans-Georg Lambert and Klaus Matischak . On November 30, 1963 he made his debut for Schalke in the Bundesliga in a 2-1 home win against 1860 Munich on the left wing. The Schalke attack consisted of Reinhard Libuda , Willi Koslowski , Klaus Matischak, Waldemar Gerhardt and the young Klose. He played his second league game in the second leg on April 18, 1965. The "Lions" clearly prevailed with 7-1 goals. In the second Bundesliga year, 1964/65, Schalke did not get past 16th place and Klose was only used in two games by coach Fritz Langner . In his third season with Schalke, 1965/66, he then belonged to the regular line-up on the offensive with 22 rounds with three goals. Schalke had to cope with the losses of Libuda, Matischak, Horst, Schulz and Gerhardt in this round and increasingly relied on "inexpensive" players. This is how Klaus Fichtel , Gerhard Neuser and Heinz Pliska made their Bundesliga debut. At the end of the round, the "Royal Blues" reached the league with 14th place. After the 1967/68 round, Klose had been in attack in 14 games at the side of Horst Blechinger , Manfred Pohlschmidt and Hans-Jürgen Wittkamp , and after a total of 58 Bundesliga games (7 goals) he ended his activity with his home club.

He joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the West Regional Football League for the 1968/69 season . The defending champions did not go as hoped in the 1968/69 series, Bayer ended up in eighth place and Klose only had twelve games (1 goal) in the team of coach Theo Kirchberg and alongside fellow players Leo Wilden and Karl- Heinz Brücken participated.

He later continued his career in Belgium and France.
