Harald Kritz

Harald Kritz (* 1950 in Mödling ) is an Austrian internist and endocrinologist .

Career

Kritz completed his medical studies from 1969 to 1973 at the University of Vienna . Subsequently, he was trained as a specialist in internal medicine and also in endocrinology and metabolic disorders. He then became a senior physician at the Lainz Hospital , where he wrote numerous research articles in the fields of insulin pumps , the artificial pancreas and the early diagnosis of diabetes-related long-term damage.

Harald Kritz has been the medical director of the Baden health resort since 1986 and medical director of the Engelsbad Rehabilitation Center of the BVA in Baden from 2009 to 2013 . Since 1995 he has been a lecturer and since 1997 lecturer at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna . There, Kritz completed his habilitation in the field of atherosclerosis research (new methodology for the early detection of atherosclerosis). Since 1996, Harald Kritz has been giving online lectures on the early diagnosis of atherosclerosis and fat disease, on the metabolic syndrome , on lipid metabolic diseases and on endothelial dysfunctions.

Kritz is a member of the Wilhelm Auerswald atherosclerosis research group and a founding member of the health initiatives Lipidforum austriacum , Focus CRP , Frau2000 and Ask2000 . He has also been on the board of the Society of Doctors in Vienna since 1997 , where he was also made an honorary member, and in this role he established an e-learning platform for advanced training for doctors. In addition, Kritz was head of the research unit E-Meducate for e-learning and telemedicine at the Medical Department of Danube University Krems and from 2003 to 2005 President of the Lipidforum austriacum.
