Harald Tscherne

Harald Tscherne (born May 20, 1933 in Graz ) is an Austrian trauma surgeon and emeritus .

Act

Tscherne completed his surgical training with Maurice Edmond Müller and at the LKH University Hospital Graz . The Hannover Medical School appointed him to the Chair of Traumatology in 1970 . He was the first to recognize the importance of the ambulance service , which he was instrumental in building with helicopters . Like no other, he devoted himself to the biometrics of multiple trauma and soft tissue damage . He brought the new clinic to worldwide renown. Numerous clinic directors and chief physicians emerged from it.

Tscherne is the author or editor of 24 textbooks . The United States National Library of Medicine has 448 publications .
