Harcharan Singh Brar

Harcharan Singh Brar (born January 22, 1922 in Sarai Naga , † September 6, 2009 in Chandigarh ) was an Indian politician of the Congress Party . From August 31, 1995 to November 21, 1996 he was Chief Minister of the Indian state of Punjab . He was the successor to the murdered Chief Minister Beant Singh .

Brar was governor of Orissa from February 1977 to September 1977 and then governor of Haryana until 1979 . He died after a long illness at the age of 87.
