Ten-year-old Hari Prasad Dhoonda (nicknamed Hari Puttar) recently moved with his family from India to the UK. When the parents go on vacation with his brother Tuk Tuk, Hari has to take on two burglars who want to steal a secret formula from Hari's father.

controversy

Warner Bros. sued the production company Mirchi Movies to stop the release of the film because of the similarity of the title to those of the Harry Potter films. However, an Indian court dismissed the case on the grounds that the public was able to distinguish between the two titles.

Mirchi Movies CEO Munish Purii had argued that there were few similarities between Hari Puttar and the fictional character. He explained that Hari is a popular Indian name and “puttar” means “son” in Punjabi .
