Player career

Hujic took the first steps in his basketball club career with the Baskets Lüdenscheid.

During the 2011/12 season he took part in the U16 Bundesliga for the first time as a member of the Phoenix Hagen JBBL team .

In the 2013/14 season he played in the Lüdenscheid men's team (2nd regional league) and also played in the Phoenix Hagen U19 Bundesliga team . His coaches in Lüdenscheid were his father Amir Hujic and Vid Zarkovic. During this season, in January 2014, he moved to BG DEK / Fichte Hagen in the 1st regional league. He also played the following season in Hagen and continued to play for Phoenix Hagen in the youth basketball league (NBBL). In January 2015, Hujic played in the NBBL's Allstar game, won the game with the North team and was subsequently named the best player of the game. With the Phoenix Hagen U19 team, he made it into the top four teams in Germany in 2015. For the third time in four years they lost the semi-finals, this time again as in 2012 in their own hall, but only after two extensions against the offspring from Eintracht Frankfurt. Hujic was then named the most valuable player of the 2014/15 season and thus the best player in the league.

In May 2015 Hujic signed a three-year contract with the second division club Nürnberger BC . In addition to appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , he also gained match practice in the Nuremberg NBBL team during the 2015/16 season and, thanks to a double license with TS Herzogenaurach, in the 1st regional league. Hujic left Nuremberg after the end of the 2015/16 season after the club got into financial distress. At the beginning of August 2016, the third division Baskets Akademie Weser-Ems / Oldenburger TB announced his commitment. In October 2017 he made his debut in the basketball Bundesliga in the shirt of EWE Baskets Oldenburg , after he had already played short appearances in the European Cup for the team in the preseason. He played 38 Bundesliga games for Oldenburg until 2019, but did not make a breakthrough in the Bundesliga, but was a top performer in the Lower Saxony training team in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .

At the end of June 2019 he was signed by the second division Rostock Seawolves , and in May 2020 he was announced as a new addition to the league competitor Bayer Leverkusen .

National team

In 2013 Hujic completed his first international matches with the U16 national team and was part of the U18 selection of the German Basketball Federation in 2014 and 2015. In 2017 he was appointed to the squad of the U20 national team. At the U20 European Championship in the summer of 2017, he reached seventh place overall with the German team and scored an average of 7.3 points per match. In May 2018, Hujic was appointed to the A2 national team. In July 2019 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Naples with the A2 and finished the tournament in fifth place.
