history
Harrierwurp was built around 1500 as an extension of Hammelwarden. It is located in the Hammelwarder Moor. The first mention of the place was around 1540. In Harrierwurp there is evidence of a water mill since 1822 . This was destroyed in a storm in 1930. At this mill there was a carpentry shop and a bakery . The first school was established in 1630.
