Harry Rapier
Harry Rapier (life dates unknown) was a German football player .
Career
Rapier belonged to the Düsseldorfer FC 1899 as a goalkeeper , for whom he played point games in the championships organized by the Rheinisch-Westfälischer Spiel-Verband . At the end of the 1906/07 season he won the championship in the North Rhine District , in one of seven districts at the time. In the ensuing final round of the West German Championship , his team reached the final in Essen with a 5-1 victory over BV 04 Dortmund and in Duisburg with a 3-1 victory over FC 1899 from Cologne . In the encounter held on March 24, 1907 in Duisburg against the Casseler FV , the Düsseldorf FC 1899 were clearly superior with 7-0.
With this success, his team was represented in the final round of the German championship . He played his only final game on April 21, 1907 in the 8-1 loss to FC Victoria 1895 in the quarter-finals . After the half-time score of 1: 2, this was mainly due to the fact that he had been sent off in the 55th minute when the score was 1: 3 because of unsportsmanlike conduct. At that time, no substitutions were usually allowed, so a field player had to guard the goal.
