The districts of Cologne, Lower Rhine and Rhine / Ruhr were renamed as Rhine District South, Rhine District North and Ruhr. With the districts of Berg, Hessen and Ravensberg / Lippe, three further districts were established. First district masters were determined in the districts. The district champions determined the West German master in the knockout system .
After four teams were disqualified, the remaining two teams played against each other in the first and second leg. The Düsseldorfer FC 1899 defeated Crefelder FC 95 8-0 at home. The Crefelder won their home game 1-0 and did without a play-off.
Hilden FC 03 was subsequently disqualified, so that all results with Hilden participation were deleted. For this reason, the third-placed BV Solingen 98 took part in the West German championship.
