Harry Stenqvist
Erik Harry Stenqvist (born December 25, 1893 in Chicago , USA , † December 9, 1968 in Örebro , Sweden ) was a Swedish cyclist .
Stenqvist was Swedish team champion in 1912, 1913 and 1915, and in 1915 he was also individual champion in the individual time trial. In 1920 he was again Swedish champion in this discipline. Stenqvist took part in the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp . Stenqvist won the 175 km long individual time trial , which was held right through the city, in a time of 4 h 40 min 1 s ahead of the South African Henry Kaltenbrunn . In the team competition, Stenqvist won the silver medal together with Sigfrid Lundberg , Ragnar Malm and Axel Persson . The race took place under adventurous conditions, as the track repeatedly crossed railway lines and drivers were hindered by train traffic. Stenqvist won his gold medal despite such a forced break of four minutes.
