Harry Ward Foote

Harry Ward Foote (born March 21, 1875 in Guilford , Connecticut , † January 14, 1942 ibid) was an American chemist and university professor .

Life

At Yale University in New Haven he studied chemistry with Horace L. Wells ( analytical chemistry ), with William G. Mixter ( general chemistry ) and with Samuel G. Penfield ( mineralogy ). After completing his studies, he himself worked in chemistry at universities for 42 years. In 1898 he began to work as a lecturer at the Sheffield Scientific School at Yale University. Six years later he was appointed assistant professor in 1904. In 1911 he took part in Hiram Bingham's expedition to Machu Picchu as a collector and photographer. In 1912 he was appointed professor of physical chemistry . His main fields were general and analytical chemistry.
