Hartes Land is the second German-language studio album by the Finnish heavy metal band Timo Rautiainen ja Trio Niskalaukaus . It was released on October 4, 2004 via Cyclone Empire .
Emergence
After the band received the offer to play a few concerts in Germany with Sonata Arctica in the opening act of Nightwish , the musicians decided to record another album with German lyrics after In frostigen Tälern . The musicians sat down and chose eleven songs from the two studio albums Rajaportti and Kylmä tila as well as the EP Kuilun partaalla , which in their opinion sound best.
The texts, originally written in Finnish , were translated into German by Professor Pekka Kujamäki. During the recording in the Sundi Coop studios in Savonlinna , the singer Timo Rautiainen was supported by the pronunciation trainer Nina Nieminen. Guest musicians of Nightwish- were keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen , the Apocalyptica - Cellist Toppinen and Pekka Kujamäki and Tapio Wilska in (both vocals). Produced and mixed was hard country Tuomo Valtonen. The mastering was done by Mika Jussila.

Tracks 1, 3, 4, and 9 are from the album Rajaportti . Tracks 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 from the album Kylmä tila . Titles 2 and 11 from the EP Kuilun partaalla .

Patrick Schmidt from the German magazine Rock Hard praised Hartes Land as a haven in today's musical landscape. Benjamin Dreßel from the online magazine Bloodchamber wrote in his review that Hartes Land is “by no means innovative music”, but the album has “a certain something that binds it very much to you”, for which he awarded eight out of ten points . Stefan Popp from the online magazine metal1.info criticized the fact that the album was “nothing special”, “because too little is happening musically” and awarded 6.5 out of ten points.
