Hartmann Reim (born March 1, 1942 in Stuttgart ) is a German prehistoric archaeologist .

Life

Even before his studies, Reim gained archaeological experience as an intern in excavations at the Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office . He then studied Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Tübingen and received his doctorate in 1969 .

He then works in the State Office for Monument Preservation in Tübingen. Reim later became head of the “Prehistory” section of the Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office, Tübingen branch. The Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office existed until December 31, 2004, and was dissolved as part of an administrative reform in the State of Baden-Württemberg. On January 1, 2005, he became the first head of the Monument Preservation Department at the Tübingen Regional Council . He retired on March 8, 2007.

Reim led several archaeological investigations, so in 1972 he was the excavation manager of the excavations on "Hochmauren" (Fort III), the so-called craftsman building, in the Roman city ​​of Arae Flaviae , today's Rottweil .
