Hartmut Löwe

Hartmut Löwe (born November 13, 1935 in Steinbach-Hallenberg ) is a Protestant theologian and former military bishop of the Bundeswehr .

After working as an assistant at the University of Heidelberg (1962–1966), as a pastor in Treisbach ( Marburg-Biedenkopf district ) (1966–1969), as head of the vicar training of the Bremen Evangelical Church (1969–1972) and youth pastor, as a training officer in the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (1972–1980) and as Vice-President in the Church Office of the Evangelical Church in Germany (1980–1992), Leo was from 1993 to 1999 authorized representative of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) in the Federal Republic of Germany and of the European Community and from 1994 to 2003 Protestant military bishop .

Leo is a member of the Evangelical Michael Brotherhood .
