Peter jug
Peter Krug (born September 8, 1943 in Dresden ) is a German theologian and was bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oldenburg from 1998 to 2008 . At the same time, he has also held the office of Protestant military bishop in Germany (Supreme Protestant military chaplain) since 2003 .
In 2011 a book with 73 texts from both areas was published under the title “Something more heaven on earth”.
In the pastor's service since 1972, he became superintendent in Saarbrücken in 1980 and thus the youngest superintendent of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland. From 1995, Krug was a councilor and representative of the Rhenish, Westphalian and Lippe churches in the state parliament and state government of North Rhine-Westphalia ( Evangelical Office ).
In 2008 Peter Krug is both Bishop of Ev.-Luth. Church in Oldenburg and retired as a Protestant military bishop immediately after his 65th birthday. The synod elected the church council pastor Jan Janssen as his successor in the Oldenburg episcopate . The EKD appointed the Lippe state superintendent Martin Dutzmann as the new military bishop .
