Hartmut Lauenroth

Hartmut Lauenroth (born February 1, 1950 in Osterhausen ; † June 7, 2020 ) was a German historian who worked as a senior research assistant at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig .

Life

In 1978 Hartmut Lauenroth received his doctorate in the history section of the Karl Marx University in Leipzig with the dissertation A for Dr. phil. The topic of the dissertation was The Formation of New Alliance Relationships between the Soviet Republics in the Period from 1917 to 1922 and their Significance for the Emergence of International Relations between the USSR and the People's Democracies (Poland and Czechoslovakia) in the Period 1944 to 1948 . In the following years he also dealt with the history of the early years of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and in 1986 also completed his habilitation at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig with the dissertation B on the subject of the establishment of Soviet power in the Ukraine, in Belarus, in Moldova and Latvia 1917/18. Since the beginning of the 21st century, Hartmut Lauenroth has written a number of hiking and travel guides as well as popular scientific writings on local history and scientific documentation from the Mansfeld region and the Halle (Saale) area , most of which were published by Verlag Schäfer in Langenbogen. The volumes also contained photographs he had taken himself. He was also a member of the Friends' Association for Culture and Customs in the Mansfelder Land and the Mansfeld History and Local History Association.

He lived in Lutherstadt Eisleben .
