history
Osterhausen is mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation from the Carolingian King Karl , in which he donated the Osterhausen chapel to the Hersfeld monastery in 777 . In a register of the tithes of the Hersfeld monastery ( Hersfeld tithes register ), which was created between 881 and 899, Groß- and Kleinosterhausen are named as places subject to tithing in Osterhusa in the Gau Friesenfeld . The Saxon-Thuringian noble family von Osterhausen named themselves after the place . Groß- and Kleinosterhausen belonged to the Saxon office Sittichenbach of the Kingdom of Saxony until 1815 and then came to the Querfurt district of the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony .
