Bischofrode has been part of Lutherstadt Eisleben in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt since January 1st, 2009 .

Bischofrode is one of the southern districts of Lutherstadt Eisleben, the village is about 4–7 km south of Eisleben in the middle of the Hornburger Saddle and is almost completely surrounded by forest.

history

The community of Bischofrode belonged to the administrative community of Lutherstadt Eisleben until its incorporation on January 1st, 2009 after Eisleben . At the end of the 17th century, Bischofrode came into the possession of the von Pfuel family , who had also owned Eisleben and Wimmelburg from 1664 until they sold the Oberamt Eisleben with Wimmelburg to the Electoral Saxon state in 1798.

The most important access route is the route to Rotenschirmbach in the south
To the federal highway 80 , which connects Eisleben and Halle (Saale) , it is approx. 3.5 km north.
The federal road 180 ( Aschersleben - Naumburg ) used to run through Bischofrode, but the route is impassable due to landslides, the B 180 was diverted to the Eisleben bypass.
To the federal highway 38 ( Kassel - Leipzig ) it is approx. 5 km in a south direction.
The next train stations are in Eisleben and Wolferode
