The place is on the northern edge of a depression, also known as the Eisleber basin . - The village church of Unterrißdorf, St. Liudger and Maternus, is a late Romanesque building and is dated to 1180/1190 (tower, nave before 1500). The altar is late Gothic, in the unspecified baptismal font in the form of a fourteen-sided prism there is an old brass basin, in the middle of which the lamb of God is depicted with a cross flag. The pulpit was added as the center point. Extensive building renovations took place inside from 1975–1977, and an extensive roof renovation in 2004/2009. The organ, built by Voigt from Polleben (Bulleben) in 1841, was comprehensively repaired in 2001 and overhauled again in 2010.
- Community grave in the local cemetery for an unknown number of concentration camp inmates of a death march from the central warehouse in Wallhausen that in April 1945 in a sandpit of SS men were shot and buried there before they got to the cemetery their final resting place.
