Anja Schache

Anja Schache (* as Anja Müller on March 29, 1977 in Potsdam ) is a German foil fencer and ten-time German champion . She is married to the internationally successful foil fencer Lars Schache .

Life

Anja Schache has been a sports soldier since 1996 ( chief sergeant in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Frankenberg / Saxony ) and started for FC Tauberbischofsheim . With the foil she won bronze at the Paris World Cup in 2001, silver at the Seoul World Cup in 2003, gold in the singles at the German Championships in 2004 , 2006 and 2008 and in 2002 , 2006, 2008, 2009 , 2010 , 2011 and 2012 with the team. She achieved her greatest success as a silver medalist at the 2005 World Cup in Leipzig . At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , Schache was eliminated from Russia's Yevgenia Lamonova without a chance with 15: 2 in the second round, in her first fight. With the team she reached fifth place. At the Fencing World Championships 2009 in Antalya she won bronze with the team. At the European Fencing Championships 2011 in Sheffield , she also won bronze with the team. In 2013 she ended her active career.

Schache completed her studies at the Cologne Trainer Academy in 2005 as a certified trainer. She is currently studying again at Ansbach University , this time in the International Management course .
